Xinghai Square
Xinghai Square, which is the largest square for public use in Dalian, is located north of Xinghai Bay. Xinghai Square covers a total area of 45,000 sq m, with its centre designed to resemble a star with two white marble cloud pillars. As night falls, lamps on the stone pillars light the main street. The lamps, spaced every 20 metres, are formed in the shape of a navigation light. For ten days each year, between late July and early August, Xinghai Square holds the International Beer Festival and Fashion Festival.

Tiger Beach Ocean Park
At the center of the south seaside of Dalian, with an area of 1,18km2 & more than 4,000m of winding coastline, the park has several word-class specialized zoos & aquariums, include a coral reef.

Xinghai Park
Situated in the western part of the Binhai Road, is one of the popular parks of Dalian. Xinghai Park features150,000 sq m of verdant gardens that comprise lawn trees, flowers and fountains. The park takes pride in its 0.15 million sq m garden and man-made beach. The famous Sun Asia Ocean world also located in Xinghai Park, a 118m underwater transparent acrylic tunnel lets you roam the ocean floor, See 300 kinds of rate fish from around the world, a “petting zoo” with marine life & model ships. During weekends and other festivals, the park is absolutely jam-packed with people who go the park to bathe, swim, stroll, dive, camp, boat and fishing.

Bangchuidao Scenic Area
Bangchuidao Scenic Area is located in the east of the Binhai Road and is about 9 km away from the centre of Dalian. The area is shaped like a bangchui (an ancient club-shaped washing tool), hence its name. Bangchuidao Scenic Area enjoys a temperate climate, making it the perfect place for a summer resort. Bangchuidao scenic area offers a diverse range of attractions that are both natural and man-made, including islets, scenic hills, cliffs, a beach resort, Bangchuidao Island and the Bangchuidao Guesthouse.

Dalian Discovery Kingdom
Dalian Discovery Kingdom is also known as Dalian Discovery Land and the Kingdom of Discovery. It is an amusement park located in the city’s Jinzhou district. As one of the biggest theme parks in China, Dalian Discovery Kingdom has an area of nearly 470,000 sq m with a large variety of rides and entertainment programmes. There are six main areas in the park, including Discovery Square, Magic Forest and The Mysterious Desert. The park is also a venue for a range of performances and events, with many Chinese stars being invited to come and perform.

Binhai Road
Dalian Binhai Road, which was first built in the 1970s as a military road, became a premier tourist attraction of Dalian during the1980s. The uniqueness of Binhai Road lies in the fact that it has a rare blend of mountain landscape and open sea vistas.

Binhai Road crosses an area of 35 km, running from Xinghai Square in the west to Donghai Park in the east. There are a total of 12 major attractions along Beihai Road for visitors to enjoy. While passing along the road, you can also enjoy the clear and fresh air coming from the sea. Binhai Road has become a paradise for nature lovers and a must-see attraction for all tourists visiting Dalian.

Dalian Forest Zoo
Built in 1997 and covering an area of 7.2 sq km, Dalian Forest Zoo is an amazingly extensive animal kingdom just a few steps from the heart of the city. Dalian Forest Zoo is well known for its high-quality selection of animal species. There are six functional sections in the park: a garden-like herbivorous animal section, a tower-like lion and tiger section, a crane-like section for chimpanzees and baboons, a mountain-like bear section, a special Asian elephant section, and the natural preserve section where pandas, smart squirrel monkeys, and fire-like flamingos reside. From nearby West Hill, which rises 259.6 metres above sea level, you can view the entire forest and zoo area.

Lushun (Port Arthur)
Lushun district, which is also known as Port Arthur, is 58 km from downtown Dalian. Lying perpendicular to Dalian downtown and facing the Shandong Peninsula, Port Arthur is a state-level key scenic spot, a national nature reserve, a national forest park and a famous city with a rich history and culture.

Lushun district has a long history. It was originally called Jiangjun Mountain, forming a part of the Laotie Mountain range. Between 4000 to 5000 years ago, Lushun’s first inhabitants established a native settlement. In 1880, the Qing Dynasty government built a harbour, beam defence platform and dock in Lushun, and then sent its northern naval fleet there, making Port Arthur a strategic military outpost. Port Arthur was a key battlefield during both the Sino-Japanese War (1894-1895) and the Russo-Japanese War of 1904, which left many unpleasant memories of the atrocities of those conflicts and invariably made Port Arthur a part of the modern history of the world.

Jinshitan Scenic Area 
Jinshitan scenic area is located on the shores of Huanghai Sea about 58 km away from downtown Dalian. Occupying a land area of 62 sq km with a coastline of 29.8 km, Jinshatan is the largest state-level holiday resort in China and the only one in the northeast. Notable for its geologic features, it has the reputation of being a paradise for gentlemen. Encircled by the sea, Jinshitan Scenic Area not only has fresh air, clean seawater, sunshine and a spacious beach, but it also has a first-class golf course, international yacht club and a number of amusement parks.
