The Manor at Ngorongoro, with its luxurious cottages and magnificent Manor House, brings “old-world” opulence to a green and lush setting. Think cigars and brandy, elegant fine dining, and post dinner snooker. The Manor is one of the most lavish properties on the safari circuit; the rooms are cottages suites within the manicured gardens, and each suite has a sitting room, fireplace and enormous bathroom. There is nothing like returning from a day out on safari to a hot bubbly soak in your Victorian bathtub.

The Manor has easy access to both the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park, famed for its flamingos. A luxurious safari base, with a full spa, swimming pool and stable of horses to explore the surrounding coffee plantations and countryside. The Manor also arranges special picnics and sun downers within the estate, and coffee tours for those interested in learning more about Tanzania’s famous coffee trade.

Classic architecture and beautiful grounds ~ The Manor is designed in the old Cape-Dutch style of yester year, and is situated amongst lush and colourful gardens, offering a stunning and peaceful setting.

Hamper picnic lunches in the Ngorongoro crater ~ The Manor vehicles are fitted with a special awning that pulls out from the side of the car to provide a shady cover for your picnic lunch. Several notches above the standard lunch of a “sandwich and juice box”, your comfort is ensured by providing tables, chairs and shade by which to enjoy a delicious gourmet picnic hamper.

Private campsite lunch in the Ngorongoro Crater ~ The Manor has special permission to host bush lunches in a private campsite area of the Crater, away from the crowds. The Crater lunch sites are subject to availability and early bookings are recommended.

Horse riding with picnic/sundowners ~ A horse ride through the coffee plantation and surrounding bush culminating in a picnic or sundowner offers a different African safari experience.

Coffee Tours ~ Located on the grounds of a 1,500-acre Arabica coffee estate, guests are able to satisfy their curiosity for the process by which coffee beans come from a tree and end up as an aromatic cup of coffee by doing a coffee tour.
